10 lakh compensation to gang rape victim, about 86 cases of rape every day in India
The district administration on Monday (4.3.2024) gave Rs 10 lakh as compensation to a Spanish woman who was allegedly gang-raped last week in Dumka district of Jharkhand and said that the accused will be punished by conducting a speedy trial in the case.
While talking to a media person on Tuesday, March 5,
2024, before leaving for Nepal via Bihar on a motorcycle with her husband, the
victim, a Spanish woman, said that she has no complaints with the people of
India as she has been travelling across the country for about 20,000 Kilometres
have been travelled safely; there has been no problem anywhere, and she will
continue her world tour.
While thanking the Jharkhand Police, he said, “The
people of India are good. I don’t blame people, but I blame criminals. The
people of India have treated me very well, and they have been very kind to me.
According to the National Crime Records Bureau’s
(NCRB) 2021 annual report, 31,677 rapes across the country, an average of 86
cases per day, increased from 28,046 cases in 2020, while 32,033 cases were
reported in 2019.
We live in a society where, in the name of education,
only pieces of paper are handed over; the education system in government
schools is zero; women do not even get those pieces of paper. Who should be
held responsible? Most of the people will be guilty, be it a leader, village
sarpanch, bribe taker, or any criminal; all are the same. There is only one
basic mantra of change, and that is good education, which should be given to
all.
