Blast in a popular cafe in Bengaluru, an IED bomb planter caught in CCTV

 Around ten people were injured in the bomb blast at Rameshwaram Cafe, a popular eatery located in Bengaluru’s Whitefield area. The incident took place on March 1, 2024, due to the explosion of an IED that was inside a bag that a man was keeping in cafe and was captured on a CCTV camera.

A statement issued by the Bengaluru Police Commissioner’s Office said that 10 people were injured in the blast.

The bomb exploded between 12.50 p.m. and 1 p.m., and a total of 10 people, including hotel staff and customers, were injured in the blast. However, there was no loss of life in this

At present, a case has been registered at HAL Police Station under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act 1967 and the Explosive Substances Act.

It said forensic experts and a bomb disposal squad have visited the site and are investigating.
