Delhi is first in the world among polluted cities, India is third in the world : Report
The annual World Air Quality Report has named New Delhi as the world’s most polluted capital city, while India is the third most polluted country globally in 2023, behind neighboring Bangladesh and Pakistan.
India continues
to sink into poor air quality. Northern India and Delhi grapple with smoke from
crop burning, vehicle emissions, coal burning, waste burning and burning
biomass for heat and cooking.
In the last
several years, if you have read or heard reports or news about air quality many
times, then one word must have been heard again and again, that is PM i.e.
Particulate Matter, which is dust or its particles mixed in the air, which
enter the body and cause many diseases.
Give birth. The size of PM2.5 and
10 is so small that they are invisible to the eye.
Air pollution is the biggest environmental threat to
human health. According to the World
Health Organization (WHO), air pollution is responsible for an estimated seven
million premature deaths worldwide every year.
Exposure to PM 2.5 air pollution causes and worsens many health
conditions, including, but not limited to, asthma and cancer. Stroke, and lung disease. Additionally, exposure to high levels of
particulate matter can impair cognitive development in children, cause mental
health problems, and complicate existing diseases, including diabetes. The data used to create this report was
collected from over 30,000 regulatory air quality monitoring stations and a
global distribution of low-cost air quality sensors operated by research
institutes, government bodies, universities and educational facilities,
non-profit NGOs it was done.
When we talk
about pollution, it does not affect any village, city, capital or country but
it affects the health of the entire earth. Human continuously searches for ease
in his life till the last stage of his life and harms this beautiful earth in
every way.
